National Consumer Rights Day: Tomorrow i.e. on 24th December, National Consumer Rights Day is celebrated across the country. Consumers should be aware of their rights before, during and after making a purchase. So that they cannot be cheated. The government also keeps making consumers aware about their rights and makes all efforts for this. Before National Consumer Rights Day, let us tell you the five big rights of consumers as consumers from the Consumer Forum, from refund to compensation.
Consumer’s Right to Safety
In India, customers have been given some rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Those which can be used anytime. Customers have the right to protect themselves from such products and services. Due to which there may be some kind of harm to their life or their property. These things include food items, medicines and electrical appliances. If you are in any danger from these things. So you can complain about this.
Right to Information
Apart from this, customers have the right to know about the goods and services. What is he taking? The customer has the right to know its price, its quality, its quantity, its manufacturing date, its expiry date and how to use it. If the shopkeeper gives any wrong information. So in such a situation a complaint can be made against him.
Right to Choose
Any customer can go to any shop, any shopping place in any mall and buy anything as per his wish and as per his budget. He cannot be pressurized by the shopkeeper or seller of goods to buy any particular thing. The consumer has the right to buy anything as per his wish.
Right to be Heard
Customers have the right to register their complaint related to any product or service and get it heard. Customers can present their case in consumer forum and consumer court. As a customer, your problems will be given priority.

Right to Redressal
If a customer has suffered loss due to any product or service. So in such a situation, you have the right not only to get a refund but also to get compensation. If something turns out to be wrong. So you have the right to get the money back for getting it repaired or replaced. If there is any deficiency in any service. So there is a right to compensation for this also.
